Wigwam: The Perfect Forest Retreat In North Goa
Think of Goa and what comes to mind? The emerald beaches, white sand, the epic parties or just a colorful Vespa ride amidst coconut trees? Well, let me add one more thought starter to your list of 'Ideal Goa' - A forest stay!

Stay options vary from luxury tipis (tents), to wooden cabins to one and two bedroom apartments
You'll be tucked away in a man-made jungle, an entire lush green eco-system that they've created away from noise, but also at a 15 min walking distance from the Ashwem beach
The Stay Options At Wigwam
Luxury Tipis Price: ₹3500 / Night
Get back to nature in style! The gorgeous Luxury Tipis each have a king-sized bed, a fan, mosquito net, and space to store your clothes. Enjoy the blissful experience of showering outdoors in your own private en-suite bathroom. Awaken to the chorus of exotic birds and fall asleep to the hum of crickets.
Wooden Lodges Price: ₹4500 / Night
Nestled at the back of this man-made tropical jungle gardens are the Wooden Lodges. This is where I stayed at. More spacious than the tipis, the lodges are ideal for couples or individuals wanting more room, while enjoying being immersed in nature. Each has a king-sized bed, a fan, mosquito net, and space to store your clothes. A private outdoor bathroom is attached, constructed under the coconut trees.
Stylish Apartments Price: ₹5000 / Night (one bedroom) , ₹6500 / Night (two bedroom)
Enjoy the comfort of modern living in one of the eco-chic, fully furnished apartments - ‘Leopard’s Laire’, ‘Namaste Jungle’ and ‘Captain’s Corner’. Each apartment is clean and spacious, tastefully decorated, and stays cool all year round. Inside is a kitchenette, fridge, hot-water shower room, and one or two bedrooms with a king-sized bed and hanging space for clothes. The two-bed apartments have private balconies with chill-out areas for enjoying those balmy Goan evenings in peace- with hammocks.
Dining At Wigwam
The Wigwam Jungle Cafe provides comfy and relaxed seating under the coconut palms. The menu has been curated with care and love and you'll find Vegan, Raw and Vegetarian options as well as some Non-veg, European, Goan and North Indian cuisine. My personal favorites - delicious Buddha Bowls, health-boosting Smoothies/juices and Kombucha are staples that you'll find here all the time!
The cafe is more like a wind down, get together spot in a beautiful setting.
What Else Can You Do Here?
There's a Yoga shala (an elevated podium area dedicated for yoga) which is raised over-ground and built with natural, local materials. Nestled in a groove of coconut palms and bamboo, it stays cool and shaded ,whatever the time of day. Yoga Mats, blocks and straps are provided for up to 14 students.
This is literally the perfect place to go deep within. There are a range of therapies, including deep tissue massage, reiki, Thai massage, breath-work and sound healing. You can also use the healing tipi for private mediation when available.
This is the centre point for community gathering focused on consciousness raising in North Goa, a group of ceremonies are hosted including sweat lodges and saunas.
Well, the word is, if you're in North Goa (the hippier side of Goa) and still looking for retreating or just being away from the noise and parties, then Wigwam is your go-to spot. The prices may seem high, but the experience is worth it, because I at least haven't seen something like this in Goa before.
*Note: If you are someone who is too scared of encountering the "wild-side" of being amongst nature, then you might want to re-think staying here. My bed had a canopy, but over the canopy was a huge spider. Chances are you'll see lizards hopping every now and then near your stay or so...it's a nature-stay and if you've ever stayed in a forest / jungle stay before, you'll know nature doesn't come empty handed! lol
However, let this not be your deciding factor. The insects aren't a bother, they're usually just doing their thing.
